Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics while allowing the repair to remain visible. Rather than erasing what happened, the break becomes part of the object’s story.

The artist
Meet Kat McDowell
Kat McDowell is a Japanese Kintsugi artist, instructor, musician and multidisciplinary creative. Trained in Kintsugi in Japan, she has taught the art through public workshops, museums, universities, private gatherings and corporate experiences across the United States.
Her teaching makes Kintsugi approachable for first-time participants while honoring the Japanese traditions behind the practice.

- Registrations are final and non-refundable. This workshop requires minimum enrollment. If minimum enrollment is not reached by September 21, 2026, Kintsugi with Kat may cancel the workshop, in which case all registered participants will receive a full refund.

Photos are welcome — of your work, the room, and your experience.
Video recording and livestreaming are not permitted during the workshop, on any platform.
